WE DON'T FEEL SORRY FOR YOU, ED MCMAHON!

Don’t waste your sympathy on Ed McMahon. In the 90’s this man had an estimated 200 million dollars worth of real estate – mostly in Malibu. Keep in mind that besides doing the Carson show, he did Star Search from ’83 to ’95 and his Bloopers show from ’82 to ’98 plus other shows and voice-overs too numerous to mention. And don’t forget the Publishers Clearing House scam! Few Hollywood careers can top Ed’s for prosperity and longevity.
Litigious McMahon collected 7.2 million just six years ago when he sued everyone in sight for “mold” he supposedly found in his house. After all that mold publicity, why is he surprised no one wants to buy the house? (The lawsuit paid for the house, anyway.) We feel he’s scamming here, trying to get our sympathy. We were SURE of it when he snapped on that neck brace just before he walked on the Larry King show. Poor little Ed is willing to take our DONATIONS! Even Ed’s manager theorized that Ed blew his money because he DRANK to much and didn’t pay attention to his spending. We think he still has plenty of money stashed somewhere and he’s pulling off some kind of financial shenanigans.

  1. How many people could have benefitted from just a tiny fraction of the money this man has wasted? He makes me sick. I have no sympathy.

  2. Janet, you have really found your voice with JCH.
Congratulations and keep up the good work!

  3. Hell no, why should we feel sorry. It’s a known fact that he frittered lots of it away drinking, partying, paying for drinks for strangers. He should have invested some of the $200Mil and hired an honest accountant. There’s no fool like an old fool.

  4. Even if he’s not scamming us, he should be happy for what he had, get off his Beverly Hills high horse and get on with his life. He can rent an apartment like many others who can’t afford their house anymore with these crooked politicians we have in Washington. Let him sell some of his stuff. Wonder if he drives a 6 year old Toyota like me???

  5. Janet, i totally agree with you but i dont think hes scamming us. i believe hes broke as hell BUT yes thats shameful considering all the millions of dollars this man wasted. I cannot believe he doesnt own a house I dont feel sorry for him either. people make mistakes but he kept making the same mistake year after year throwing away his money. What an idiot!!

  6. Ed should rent a small apartment and rent his mansion out; a hugh one like his could bring $20-30,000 month. Put Pamela to work; after all, she sponged off him, a 31-year older man, for 16 years. Then he could slowly pay off the mortgage. (Will Pamela stay with him since now he is supposedly broke?)

  7. Oooohhh! That is soooo scandalicious! I thought he really fell on hard times. What a scammer.

  8. The JOHN DELOREAN-episodes are everywhere!!

  9. Does anyone know the story behind breaking his neck? On Larry King last night he chose not to discuss what happened? Secondly is it just me or did his wife seem DRUNK last night she made no sense…

  10. Janet, why do you hate this geezer so much?

  11. I spoke with the Limo Driver who drove Ed, His Wife and three other people over to the Larry King Show.. When I told him why Ed was appearing on the show he was floored.. He explained that Ed (without his neck brace on) and crew were all laughing without a care in the world and they were drinking from large 40 oz Tumblers…

  12. Sorry but if they are in such dire straits his wife is young enough to get a JOB. I always thought Ed was slimey. I would think he would be embarrassed to have the world know of his financial situation. That’s why I’m suspect of his motives. His wife was an idiot on LK! She cried that she has never owned a house until Ed. Pleeeze!

  13. 100% agreed, Janet. The man is living in la-la-land if he thinks most people are feeling sorry for him. Such a shocking waste of money, frittered away on indulgences. Downsizing would do him good.

  14. He’s greedy and sickening!! Upgrading every few years to a younger trophy wife costs money…move into an assisted living home if things are so bad.

  15. Just wondering, Janet: You seem to be angry at Ed McMahon. Did he ever do something to you personally? I don’t think you’ve ever lambasted another celebrity this way. Mind you, I’m not defending Ed, and if he’s faking, that’s disgusting.

  16. Congrats to janet for telling it the way it is, as for larry king’s sickening interview its no secret politicians and celebs go there for a sypathetic softball interview and people are tired of the bull from hollywood and politicians.

  17. it’s about damn time somebody said it. People live way beyond their means and then expect a taxpayer handout, maybe I should buy the home of my dreams and let somebody else pay for it.

  18. Al Gore, Madonna, Elton John, Sharon Stone, Sharpton and Bono were only a few of his buddies showing Ed how to scam for charity.

  19. I find he is a shameful example of everything that is wrong with this world. His contention that he is losing money becuase of his injury is nothing short of rediculous. How many 83 year olds expect to be working these days anyway – celebrity or not. Who could possibly sympathize with someone that made that much money? And to imply that his wives cleaned him out is even worse. He frankly had a gaul even appearing on the Larry King show to present his case. He looks even worse now.

  20. Daisy from above: YOU ARE A MORON.
“Ed should rent a small apartment and rent his mansion out; a hugh one like his could bring $20-30,000 month.”
    The mortgage payment is $58K/Mo.

  21. You are a horrible woman. I know the McMahons, and for you to pick on an older man, no matter how irresponsible he may have been, is just wrong. Find some compassion in your heart, if you have one. You feed off other people’s misfortune. I’m sure there is a place in hell for you Janet.

  22. @ 12:01 PM (Anon)…. U R totally right. I did not take time to look at the numbers. Sooooorrrry. I still think Pamela would not have married him 16 years ago if he had not been rolling in dough then.
    ‘K?

  23. listen i can’t even say i feel sorry for this dude, actually i don’t give a rats ass about him, why, oh let’s see he milked the celebrity status a little longer than i can stand and if he is broke due to his own haphazardness, well too bad. a mortgage payment of 58K, well he should have moved the hell out and the chick who’s the friend, well you give him the money and stop hiding behind the anonymous bullshit because if their is a space in hell for janet, she better move over for the two of you

  25. The way he was parodied on Larry Sanders was priceless.
Sideshow Ed was always a no talent hack, pisstank who lucked out [Heeere’s Johnny]more than he ever should have.
    A simple carny hustler.

  26. More liberal whine at larry king, notice how they only accept calls from those sympathetic and the softball interviews for celebs and politicans, go to hell larry!

  27. THE broken neck is a lie if anything just a sprain, wearing a collar for sympathy, how pathetic celebs have become…

  28. guess there are britney spears/lindsey lohans/amy winehouse’s in every generation (and their hangers on).

  29. guess there are britney spears/lindsey lohans/amy winehouses in every generation (and their hangers on as well).
By the way the wife seemed more than just a little ‘simple’.

  30. The following from Wikipedia sums up is conman background.
McMahon began his career as a bingo caller in Maine when he was 15. Prior to working as the announcer, he worked as a carnival barker for three years as a teenager in Mexico, Maine, and put himself through college as a pitchman for vegetable slicers on the Atlantic City boardwalk.

  31. I’m sure we could find thousands, even tens of thousands of 85 year old, twice-divorced Americans out there who never had to sue, never made much money in their lives, and still managed to pay their mortgages.
I agree – there’s no reason whatsoever to have sympathy for Ed McMahon. Common sense alone dictates that he frittered away his money as if there were no tomorrow.
