WE’LL NEVER FORGET PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN BECAUSE OF “DOUBT”
SO sad that Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman died of an apparent heroin overdose. He was certainly one of the finest actors of our time. But his public persona and attitude toward the press was often negative and he seemed angry without reason. He chose his roles carefully and we will never forget his movie ”Doubt.” It should be required viewing – especially for people who think they know it all and are stubborn about their opinions. Hoffman was brilliant as a priest (above) accused of being too friendly with a young boy. Things are not always as they seem. This touching and important movie changed the way we judge things forever. For that, we have to thank Hoffman, at least in part. Sadly, Philip is survived by his three young children and a longtime companion Mimi O’Donnell.

Dear Philip, a beautiful beautiful soul. For the most sensitive among us the noise can be too much. Bless your heart. ;^{

Gag. And here comes all the ‘celebrity’ quotes and tributes. As if their fine words mean a thing. A bunch of users, abusers and enablers.

What a sad loss. He totally nailed every role. My favorites were Scotty in Boogie Nights and in Flawless with Deniro. Such a waste.

He was great in boogie nights, and he was the perfect a-hole in the talented mr. Ripely.

Sad. But hard, really, to feel bad for someone when they take their own life so cavalierly…

He had a disease. Try to have some empathy for him and his family. He was my favorite character actor. If he was in a movie, that usually meant it was going to be good. I looked forward to seeing him on screen. I think my favorite movie was The Savages because I was going thru the same sort of situation with an aging parent at the time. I love Jim Carrey’s statement.

It appears that great actors have major demons. No matter what they accomplish in life, it’s never enough. He took drugs and drank alcohol before becoming an actor — he actually said he enjoyed it. Sometimes, I think people like him want to die!!!!! Even having 3 young children wasn’t a reason for him to get clean.

How are the terms Great Actor and PSH used in the same phrase?
In time he will be no more important than Kylie Jenner.

Everyone has choices to make. Just as Paul Walker chose to indulge in fast cars. Choices have consequences. I certainly don’t want to hear every single detail of his death. There are real heroes and victims losing their lives every day and don’t get an ounce of your sympathy, much less press time.
