WHAT A FEELING! IT'S IRENE CARA PUSHING THAT CART!

It’s always fun to go to the supermarket in Los Angeles because you never know WHO you might bump into! “Fame” star Irene Cara ,49, turned up at Whole Foods where she shopped pretty much unnoticed. Irene’s songs Fame and What a feeling are still disco anthems of the early 80’s. And of course she starred in the movie “Fame.” The Oscar winner has never stopped working – now she has an all girl band called Hot Caramel.

Janet, thanks for the update! I’m a fan of Irene — she’s a very talented lady.
For you youngsters (LOL), check out the movie Alan Parker’s “Fame” circa 1980(?). Irene is amazing in it.
And… it just occurred to me… Madonna was just getting her start back in the day, and was famously rejected by Parker for a role in “Fame.”
Flash-forward many years, and Parker directs Madonna in the last film he would make, “The Next Best Thing,” which just wasn’t very good. At his death, I recall that some people close to Parker claimed that Madge’s behavior during the film probably contributed to his demise/loss of spirit, etc. Any insight, Janet?
Anyway, Irene looks GREAT; I hope she’s doing well.

OK — I’m gonna attribute the confusion above to my faulty memory:
“Fame” starring Irene Cara was indeed directed by Alan Parker, and he is very much alive; He would later go on to direct Madonna in “Evita.”
“The Next Best Thing” was directed by the also very talented John Schlesinger, who died in 2003. And yes, it was reported that his declining health was perhaps made worse by Madonna’s behavior toward him during filming.
Apologies for the confusion; carry on.

This singer has been losing weight for an important TV role but she’s doing it the dangerous way- with cocaine – and now she’s addicted. Friends can’t help but notice. During a two hour dinner at La Loggia in Studio City, she went to the bathroom nine times and barely ate a thing. A few weeks later she and her husband ate at Nobu, but she barely touched her food and drank instead. After six trips to the bathroom she practically had to be carried out the door by her husband. She’s convinced she’ll gain weight if she stops using, and her family is frantic.

    It happened in 2000:
Believe it or not, there’s a drawback to being Brad Pitt’s wife. Before they wed, Jennifer Aniston had her own separate medicine cabinet full of expensive moisturizers, line preventers, masks, and everything necessary to keep skin perky. Now that they’re married, Brad’s discovered Jennifer’s beauty stash and he helps himself. Jennifer’s happy that he’s concerned about his skin but hates to find her stuff missing. So she spent $2000 on various skin products for Brad’s bathroom.

So, what do you think of that?! DO TELL!
