The baby-faced star of the biggest film of the 1980’s, E.T., morphed into a matron when we weren’t looking! Actually, it’s an optical illusion and we blame that awful dress – it’s baggy and shapeless and would add years and pounds on to just about anyone. Drew Barrymore is at a Women’s Wear Daily event in New York and she should have made more of an effort. We remember when she was a young teen TRYING to look older and finagling her way into clubs like Studio 54...

She’s gone downhill fast
When will people accept that drugs and alcohol damage your central nervous system?
She’s a true chameleon–changing her look from time to time (not always for the better), but consistent with her enormous talent.
We occasionally rewatch Drew as “Little Edie” in Grey Gardens, and it never fails to make us smile.
Drew (and Jessica as “Big Edie”) are astonishing and wonderful.
