WHAT MICK JAGGER WANTED FROM ANDY WARHOL – AND WHAT HE GOT

Our esteemed colleague James St James at The WOW Report published this utterly fascinating letter that Mick Jagger wrote to Andy Warhol in 1969, asking him to design an album cover. It’s delightfully revealing because Mick Jagger was obviously so much better educated that he wanted us to know in those days. His rep back then was that of a care-free, drugged up, frivolous rockstar, but his writing is decidedly smart and upper class. Now we know he was always the brains behind The Rolling Stones. The result of this correspondence was probably the most famous album cover of all time.

  1. Oh, and just because someone told you Jagger wrote it, that means it’s true, right? Typical. I like James St. James but where’s the proof Jagger actually wrote it? And as usual, Janet is ready to kiss celebrity ass just because something looks one way even when there’s no evidence it’s real. Remember her insisting Katherine Heigl was pregnant and that was why she was shopping for a stroller? How’d that work out for ya, Janet?

In any case, whoever wrote this letter had real issues with punctuation.

  2. I have also doubt about what you wrote Janet. Andy Warhol made a lot of album covers, not only for the Rolling Stones and he`s an artist with his own imaginations about music and art. I don`t think Mick Jagger had this big influence…

  3. that cover is somewhat famous, but by far its not the most memorable album cover. that notion is just ridiculous.

  4. Mick Jagger graduated from the London School of Economics. I’ve never heard anyone suggest that he was not an intelligent man. And as an aside about the Sticky Fingers album, if you haven’t seen it, there was a real zipper on the album. If you went to a record store, all the wrapping would be torn and all the zippers pulled down.

  5. he was a faggot back then?
    ……………………….LOVE?
