WHAT ROLLING STONE DID WRONG

Glorifying a killer on the cover of a popular magazine is NEVER a good idea. Responsible journalists don’t try to make murderers even more famous. But Rolling Stone not only put Boston bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, who killed 3 and injured 260 people, on the COVER, they made him look like a curly haired rock star. Perhaps with the help of photoshop, because he never looked that good before. What’s more, on the same cover, the magazine implies that OTHERS are responsible for his criminal behavior. Supposedly he became radical when his family failed him. Really? This is no time for dime store psychology.

  1. I’ve been back and forth on this all day. I read Rolling Stone and political and social articles are the norm, but I’m not sure that this is a cover story. Maybe it’s because they used a photo which makes the little asshole look “Dylanesque”, or maybe because on an almost daily basis, our local papers bring us updates on the progress of the bombing victims and families of the ones who were killed.

You may or may not be surprised to know that when they arraigned the little asshole last week in the federal court, there were people gathered outside who were there to support him because they believe he was framed. One nutjob even came in from Las Vegas.

  2. Massive overreaction by people.
    Just read the caption: .

RS calls him a monster on the front cover.
The photo is intended to show what he was before he became a terrorist & monster!

  3. The caption disappeared
“How a Popular, Promising Student was Failed by His Family, Fell Into Radical Islam and Became a Monster”

  4. Rolling Stone is going political?

    …………….A DEAD SIN, folks!!

  5. It’s not as though it’s the first time Rolling Stone has put a killer on the cover….. back in the day the put Charlie Manson on the cover. But that was when RS was a book worth consideration.

  6. I believed he was frame. There many agents with backpacks that day. First they said it was a training exercise then a bomb. Why would ptb purposely trainimg during a marathon? Did the the bomb dog sniffers take a day off? Really a pot used as a bomb? Where is the evidence it was a pot. Dead man tells no tales his sopposed associate didn’t havr a weapon but they killed him anyway? An exercise of marshal law was implemented on the people of boston but they are so stupid to be aware of anything. The rollingstones pic condems someone that has to convicted.

  7. My thoughts are you can look at the picture and think you are seeing something totally different than what is inside. I don’t think he was setup at all, I think he did what he is accused of doing and should be punished accordingly.

  8. They killed a cop outside a convenience store point blank, engaged cops in a terrifying shootout, had all the elements of the bomb making stuff in their apt, and are seen doing it. He even admitted it when he made the statement, “we don’t like to kill innocent people, but innocent people are dying everywhere” (paraphrasing). As if thats not enough the cops think the older one at least shot 3 of his buddies in a separate case. They have tons of evidence against these creeps. Why would they want to frame him?

I agree with Janet. I think this cover shot is ‘shopped to the max to make him, a terrorist and murderer look better. RS could have done a story on him, but the cover should have been of the three beautiful people who died that day, that beautiful little boy and those two lovely young women. An RS cover is an accolade, something you get for being great at something. It will look like some kind of great reward for terrorism to already deranged minds. I will def be boycotting it.

  9. Very disappointed in Rolling Stone magazine cover. What an idiot move. How is this murder relevant to music or pop culture? Are the editors so old and out of the loop to realize young girls are idolizing him like Manson? Very. Disappointed.

Is Rolling Stone past its prime?

To quote from the movie Drowning Mona, “Yeah, but you’re not even supposed to get that far, you’re supposed to have that thing in your head that goes off and says, ‘bad FCUKING idea!’

  10. Janet I love your website.
Of all the pictures available of this jerk, from the bomb sites, from the capture, the magazine chooses this one.
Cheap, tastless and heartless doesn’t begin to describe this decision.
I am not picking up this magazine again and I hope it folds immediately.

  11. The Mass Bleeding Hearts wouldn’t be so critical if this happened in Kansas. I read the story and thought it was an interesting profile that was perhaps not long enough to get to the real issue.

I simply don’t understand why they were ever allowed into the country, allowed to receive welfare and gain citizenship when millions of real Americans are out of work.

The industry of Pity if very real and allows large profits to be made by groups who bring these people to the USA for various reasons which are usually not good enough to pass muster. The real story Rolling Stone should have researched is how these people got to America and were able to legally suck up benefits.

  12. If this killer were a fat slob, believe me, no one would put his ugly mug on the cover of RS. But since this guy is good-looking, away they go putting his murderous mug on the cover. Truly disgusting.

  13. I love that this asswipe ran his brother over with a car. I saw the coroner pics, it was fantastic. Now give him the needle & lets move on. Never forget the victims. They are the deserving group.

  14. This picture was one of his own, it was floating around the web for a while now so I don’t believe they did anything to it. What a waste of a life, this kid could have had it all. He was good looking, popular, girls loved him, he was smart enough to get a scholarship ect and he threw it all away and for what? He just made people hate this Islamic crap even more. These type of acts do nothing but destroy everyone involved. I don’t understand what was in his mind to throw his life away at 19 for some bullshit religion.
