WHAT’S GOING ON? THE MARVIN GAYE MOVIE IS FINALLY IN THE WORKS
We’ve been waiting what seems like forever for Marvin Gaye’s life story to come to the big screen. It’s not clear whether the movie, “Sexual Healing,” will document Marvin’s death – he was shot and killed by his own cross-dressing father in 1984, but it will cover the last years of his life spent in Europe, trying to conquer addictions. According to Deadline.com, Lenny Kravitz was set to star but for some reason, Gaye’s son vehemently objected. He’s been replaced by Law & Order star Jesse L. Martin, who starred in the original version of “Rent” on Broadway, meaning he can sing and dance.

Sounds horrifyingly like a flop.

Jesse kinda resembles Marvin. Hard to believe it has been almost 30 years since Marvin was murdered by his father.I always enjoyed his music with Tammy Terrel.

I didn’t know Marvin had a son and I didn’t know his dad was a cross dresser. I thought he was a minister.

He might be able to sing and dance, but I doubt he’s gifted with Marvin’s gorgeous voice. His death was such a tragedy.
