Lately nothing has been going right for Christina. In her Super Bowl performance of the National Anthem she not only got the words wrong but her long drawn out overwrought rendition was excruciating. She was trying way too hard to impress with her vocal flexibility. And the plain black too-tight suit didn’t do a thing for her. Lately she’s had career setbacks, a divorce, a new boyfriend, and nights of too much partying. It makes you wonder.

The worst thing is her hair. Why do people think blonde hair is better than pretty hair? I hate extensions and, although I like blonde hair, I hate blonde for blonde’s sake as a shortcut to beauty. I know…rant!

BTW, Christine got the lyrics wrong.

I hit the ‘mute’ button when she came on, so I had no idea she botched the song till I read it on Facebook. I could see her screaming the words, tho, and was glad I couldn’t hear them. She’s not my idea of a singer, but what do I know…

    That isn’t hair extensions, it’s a wig. She’s bald.

Who knew that Whitney Huston would be the rendition to be compared to?

    And the BEPuleeeze?

Y’all bitched at The Who; professional and polished wins hands down.

This was a terrible pick to do the NA, a total dishoner. She is a nutcase and clit licker w/ no little talent and fake looks. The singer in Chicago who sings the NA at Black Hawks games did the best job of any during the playoffs. This is one more example of paying big money for no resulta.

Even if she had gotten the lyrics correct, the vocal gymnastics (in my opinion) are not appropriate for the National Anthem. Oh, and “the twilights last reaming”? Yes, that’s what she said. Can hardly wait to hear the critics.

Those are some great shoes though.

She needs to lose the white hair, lose the red lipstick, lose the diva clothes and jewelry and just sing. Under all that hideous mess is a beautiful voice that I haven’t heard in years and years.

You wonder if maybe Sam Ronson gave her a STD that has already gone to brain.

Well at least she sang LIVE!!!
Can’t be said for alot of other So-called Singers out there.

I feel she is going through some “Stuff” right now and she does need to get her act together a little. Christina has to work through her issues before her career will flourish again.

It really must be hard for her to watch all those other talentless singers rake in money hand over fist.

The Star and Enquirer have lots of pics of her passing out in nightclubs, where she and her new squeeze hang out until the crack of dawn. Years of boozing can kill brain cells. It seems, however, that many cannot seem to memorize the words to the National Anthem. She is probably more well-known than ever now that she is getting mucho attention for her huge musical mistake.

I used the Nelson in an earlier “HaHA” post and forgot to switch back to me.
I read of Nancy’s amazing talent in Peter Lawfords autobiography.
Certain things stick in your mind you know.
And suck it up Strom. Nancy did. slurp slurp slurp.

Christina will never live this down. You just don’t mess up the lyrics to the National Anthem at the Super Bowl and easily sail past it. She sounded as bad as she looked. What an embarassment. I’d rather the Super Bowl “powers who be” held a talent contest and selected a no-name person to sing the anthem. Someone who would be respectful to the song and the tradition. That would be a lot more exciting than listening to an overpaid, bloated, ridiculous-looking recording artist.

I was absolutely horrified. I think this gal has had one too many nights on the town. Singing lessons and sobriety would be a good bet for her.

the NA is one of THE worst songs ever written
    lyrics and music
    it really just sucks
YOU try to sing the damn thing

lol, hedda.. a university music professor whose class I took for an elective said almost the exact same thing, and I tend to agree. Unfortunately, due to it’s historical significance, we’re probably stuck with it permanently.

The NA was an embarrassment at the Olympics whenever a US athlete was on the podium. All other countries have much better sounding anthems.

All the booze and munchies are catching up with her….even wearing black can’t hide it.

It’s ridiculous that she couldn’t practice the words over and over until she memorized it. There is no excuse. Her memory cells are being deleted, and fast, by alcohol.

I love her and although I will get bashed for saying this, I don’t think she did that bad of a job on the song, I have heard a lot worse over the years. I think that she must be boozing it up though because in place of her usual buff, hot-skinny, pulled-together self, she has been looking, of late, like she has gainged about thirty pounds, hair askew and not really together at all. She is a five star talent in every way but she seems to have slipped off the edge since she and her husband split. If she could just get the weight off, the rest can be handled by her stylists, etc. We really need her back—she is a major talent and I would hate to see her go the way of so many of the others.

If her black suit was longer she would have looked like a vampire. She was screaming the song. It was like she was in another world. I guess she will sing perfectly at the Grammies because they are oh so more important than our national anthem. She needs to donate her salary to the military for the insult and sing the anthem again free to the military.
