Some crimes simply cannot be forgiven and forgotten. 21 months in prison doesn’t seem like nearly enough punishment for Michael Vick’s inhumanly torturous dog fighting crimes. Naturally the NFL star would like to rebuild his monstrous reputation so he agreed to an interview with Oprah. Days later he backed out and THE REAL REASON IS that the people who adopted his mangled dogs (the ones that survived) demanded equal time with the animals. That would certainly have made Vick look like the bloodthirsty fiend he undoubtedly still is.

I’m glad he cancelled Oprah. The last thing the public needs is more air time for a sadist like him. He needs to disappear. I could give a crap if he can throw a football it does not change his vile behavior or make him intelligent. They should have never let him back in the NFL.

Selene: don’t insult the pigs like that.

This colossal asshole needs to be forced to face forward in a chair like an electric chair, bolted in where he cannot move his head away, and have all the new owners of the helpless mangled dogs who survived, march out with their pets and sit on stage with them and tell the story of how the dog arrived to them in what condition. Tell the suffering the animal went thru.

It is far too hush-hushed and brushed aside and this fucker is right back with his smirking coniving shit making the big bucks again. That he is even ALLOWED to HOLD that precious baby dog above turns my stomach into curdles of Vick crud I could spew right into his face with a force that would take his eyes out. Putrid prick! I hope he gets his, and SOON and painfully!

But your Clockwork Orange scenario, deconstruction of the guy, to amend his wrongs is also…. a little demented. But I like it.

Interesting, but I don’t totally buy it. Whom did the new dog owners demand equal time from? The article doesn’t say. The natural assumption would be Oprah, but no one can “demand” to be on her show.

Lots of sympathy for a bunch of dogs! Give the guy a chance, he paid a very heavy price for this. The last thing he should do is go on Oprah or any other PC show.

What’s so hard about believing that the victimized dogs’ owners (and those that rehabilitated the animals) demanded equal time?I wouldn’t be surprised if animal lovers who work on Oprah’s show were some of the most vocal advocates for equal time.

  15. By Denise
    On February 20, 2011 at

Since Oprah is herself a dog lover, I assumed, perhaps optimistically, that she planned to rip him a new one. I doubt that she had any plans to rehab his image. If she did, then I would be deeply disappointed in her.

As an animal lover, I won’t forget what he did, but I doubt he or the NFL care about people like me. As long as he can throw a football successfully, there are those who will forgive and forget.

  17. By Hyprocritical
    On February 20, 2011 at

You people kill me. You act as if Vick committed the worse crime ever, over some dogs. He’s already paid for that which I think was STUPID to have to go to jail over some frickin DOGS. Ben Rothlesburger (sp) is a RAPIST, I don’t see you all up in arms over that. I’d think violating females repeatedly would be worse than torchering pooches. I hope you so called dog lovers aren’t the same kind of ppl who let your dogs loose & let them use other ppl’s lawns as their bathroom. You probably sleep w/them, let them lick you in the mouth, & probably wash their bowl w/your regular dishes. NASTY!

    Dear Hypocritical,

The reason no one is talking about Ben Rothisburger, or whatever his name is, is because this item is not about him.

Secondly, what Vick was doing is ILLEGAL.

People who think nothing of torturing animals usually think nothing of torturing people. Most serial killers started out killing dogs and cats. This guy gets a free pass from some of you just cause he can throw a ball around. Disgusting.

Hypocrite humans can speak up for themselves. Animals can not. He beat, drowned, kicked etc… defenseless animals and they feel pain and fear everybit as much as you do. You are a very enlightened and sick individual if you think “some dogs” make them any less valuable beings to dismiss the suffering and pain this brute put them through. You and Vic are disgusting.

Wow,the people with the attacks, their panties are seriously twisted. Really!? So you guys must not shower, brush your teeth, wash your hair, put on deordorant or perfume. No one here ever had a surgery or take medicine. Everyone here is one culture? The cock fighting, bullfighting, or even the running of the bulls. The way the industry kill chickens and cows? The people that love pets, did you guys go out of your way and go down to adopt a pet from hurrican katrina?

He is really important to get wild up about?

As for ben, obviously it is better to rape white girls because everyone is just going to focus on the black guy that abused those dogs. Women are lower than dogs so let ben abused them right?

It is my understanding that a few years ago Michael Vick was found out to be a guy who was running a dog fighting ring. It was a highly publicize case that stayed in the news for weeks and weeks. Considering the fact that this is the same Michael Vick who played with the Falcons as a professional football player made the dog fighting charges even worst. How dare anyone be so cruel to pit bulls by making them fight, how dare Michael Vick make money on the side encouraging this kind of behavior, how dare he have such activities going on at his home even though he was not there at the time, even though he was miles away while all this was going on, because it was his house, his property, and his friends and family that were operating this blood thirty sport,he became the primary person involved. Not a single person on this page can give the name of at least one person that was arrested at Michael Vick’s home. Michael had to come home to get arrested,he was out of town when all of this way going on. It does not matter that Michael was no where around when his family members were arrested on the property. Once it was known that Michael Vick owned that house, there was no denying that he was a part of what was going on. He never denied knowing about what was going on while he was away. He had family members looking after his property while he was out of town. Michael Vick went to jail, as a matter of fact he checked in early to serve his time, and served his time he did. When Vick was released from jail,he was all but financially ruined. Regardless of what I think about Michael Vick it does Not matter. The National Football League saw something in Michael Vick that was of value, and they voluntarily on their own accord welcomed him back into the game. Now some of us may not be happy about that, but what do we think that we are qualified to do about it. It is not about Michael Vick being able to play football. Everybody and their kinfolks know that Michael has served time in the Federal Pen and it don’t make a d@mn bit of difference to the powers that be of The Philadelphia Eagles. With that said, why would Michael need to go on Lady O’s show to rehash the old pictures of his house being raided. Why would he need to sit on Lady O’s sofa to try to redeem himself AGAIN?? If the NFL feel the need to give him another chance, just who am I to challenge the powers that be at the NFL?? I will not minimize the seriousness of the charges against Vick, but they are no longer charges, In the eyes of the courts it is over, but in the eyes of the general public he will always be known for leading a dog fighting ring. In the eyes of the Football League he will be known as an MVP. MICHAEL VICK valuable PLAYER. PEACE!!!!

    On February 20, 2011 at

Leo, you dumb shit, amybe he “redeemed” himself in the eyes of the greedy NFL, but I dare you to look at any of the dogs managled under his diection/on his property/with his obvious knowledge. The dogs that fought, the “loser” dogs, torn beyond recognition and suffering horrible where buried alive at times, shot, or drowned, and who knows what else. They were NEVER treated humanely. The person who mentioned that serial killers start by killing animals was 100% correct. Do your homework.

The dogs that were rescued and rehabilitated, probably at great expense and stress to all involved, most assuredly have vicious scars to prove they were once the lucky buddies of one Michael Vick, Dog Torturer with no concience, and THAT is what we are all pissed off about. He think because he “did his time” that it’s all over. How about the animals? I’ll bet you anything the suffering is NOT over for THEM. Raising animals with the one and only purpose of sending them to a torturous hideous mangling death is sooo beyond what is humane a normal person finds it so abhorant that they just can’t wrap their head around it. I hope this Vick doesn’t have kids, or isn’t allowed to be around them solo. He’s a sociopath if I ever saw one. I’d dearly love to help some of his pets new owners to a bit of revenge, Vick style, only slooowly.

  32. By Palermo
    On February 20, 2011 at

Most of his rescued dogs ended up in Oakland, so I hear news stories and read articles about them frequently. One of them had to be put down, he was beyond help. The rest were absolutely terrified of people and refused to do anything but huddle down on the floor, too scared to move. I don’t care if he served his sentence, just like I don’t care about pedophiles that finish up a sentence, they will never change and will be pure evil until they are dead. People that do horrible things and don’t stop until they are arrested, well that means if they weren’t caught they would still keep doing them, that’s the bottom line.

Michael Vick Will always be known as an animal torturer. He participated and knew EXACTLY what was taking place at his estate and he reveled in harming innocent beings. Bull fighting, cock fighting, dog hogging etc are all low class evil activities and does not excuse or lesson Vicks sociopath behavior. He can never do enough to make up for the suffering those animals went through.

With appreciation for taking the time to read and access my comment. I will continue to read
your comments on various topics of interest, but I will decline to challenge your opinion or resort to trading insults and calling you anything other than Reta when your opinions just happen to be different than mine. I know that in the heat of the moment people may say something about someone that can not be taken back, so all is forgiven and yes I will continue to read your comments whether I agree with them or not. It is always more interesting to be able to read more than one view of a hot topic. My view is no more right than another person’s opinion, and in the end that is all that it is intended to be an opinion. I can take criticism just as well as I can receive praise, but there are life’s lessons in criticism because there is always room for improvement.
In the eyes of the law Michael Vick is a free man, but in the eyes of the general public, he will always be known for the history of dog fighting, regardless of how angry you choose to be over something that happened over 4 years ago,and it did not happen directly to you because you did not serve any jail time, Michael Vick did, you were not paraded in front of the world and “labeled”
a dog kingpin, you were not financially ruined because you were kicked out of the NFL,your family were not looked upon as a bad influence. Michael Vick’s family lost a lot because he was the primary bread winner and their reputations as a family was clouded in mud. I can take you calling me a name that I do not recognize, because I think too much of myself to feel bad about what someone that I do Not even know chooses to call me, but I will say this that in 20 years ain’t nobody going to give a hot d@mn about what any of us on this page thought about Michael Vick. Trust Me!!!

I’m sure that the pitbulls that Mr Vick allegedly was involved with fighting had much better lives than the animals that were eaten by the public at large who were questioning his actions. At least these animals had a fighting chance.

I guess I should mention I am a fan of pit bulls. My first bully was a rescued fighting dog. But let’s be real about this. Pigs are much more intelligent than dogs and are kept living in their own filth for years until the sweet release of a pneumatic drill press so that you can Double Cheeseburger can have bacon. Love him or hate him, this guy is a loudmouth who doesn’t hesitate to tell it like he sees it- but there’s one thing he NEVER talks about: his prostate problem. Long story short: he LEAKS! He likes to project an image of macho virility, but under his custom made suits are custom made “diapers.” He’s VERY self-conscious and has absorbent but undetectable “panty liners” sewn into all his underwear, to avoid wet spots. Thanks to his arrogant behavior, he has more than a few enemies and he’s terrified his secret will be exposed and he’ll be forever ridiculed!
