Russell Brand has suffered some awful reviews for his remake of “Arthur” but none are probably worse than Kyle Smith’s in the New York Post. Smith said that Brand’s performance “rapidly descends the rungs of the comedy ladder from “unfunny” to “irritating” to “vulgar.” He went on to say that “some of the dialog might have been funny from someone mugging half as much as Brand.” The critic complained about Brand’s lack of charm and said “he manages to be as odious as his doppelganger, the 60’s novelty singer Tiny Tim.” See photos above. (Who knew stepping into Dudley Moore’s shoes in “Arthur” would be so dangerous?)

@ PBL: I also dislike Katy Perry. The Enquirer recently had a picture of her without makeup and she is one ugly bow-wow; totally unrecognizable.

I also dislike Russell Brand. He has been on a few talk shows lately, and I notice after about 15 minutes the hosts are visibly irritated with him. He interrupts everyone and makes unfunny lame jokes.

    These two deserve each other.

Both are not attractive people (at least to me they aren’t). Both have strange voices. The unruly hair and demented grins make me think that either of them might enjoy cross dressing. I suspect that both have/had a lovely chiffon number in the back of the closet.

I am not a fan of either. However, I do have a certain amount of respect for Brand and his ability (there has to be some kind of deep underlying strength there) to over his childhood and his many addictions and crazy lifestyle.

I have yet to speak to anyone that genuinely thought he was funny. Perhaps he tries too hard?? I don’t know. He LOOKS like he would be funny. I would like for him to be funny but he just isn’t to me.

I do hope he has success in the near future whether I like him or not.

Brand is kind of annoying. I like Katy Perry, I feel she is the underdog in the pop world(I always cheer for the underdog). Her songs are really catchy and fun to sing along to. The only thing that didn’t appeal to me about the Arthur movie was Jen Garner. I really , for some unknown reason, can’t stand her!!

MuffinTop: I will say I kind of like Katy Perry’s voice; I’ve heard lots worse. And add to that list of dislikes, after Jennifer Garner, add Kelly Ripa and Rachael Ray.

And speaking of Rachael Ray, Russell was on her show about 2 months ago. He was obviously on something; as RR was showing him about cooking, he kept acting obnoxious, being really nervous, and flashing his inch of gums. At the end of the show, RR was visibly shaken and sweating. Here’s betting he won’t be on her show again.

Oh heavens, Muffin, another on my list is Courteney Cox. It was so irritating on ‘Friends’ how she would look up and scream “I Know” for no reason at all. She is a bitch and even though David is no great prize he should just cut his losses and move on, as she is now cheating on him, per all the gossip mags.

I ALWAYS thought that Russell Brand is the re-incarnation of Tiny Tim, but i liked Tiny Tim.

He and Katy are one of those show biz arrangements made them both multi millions since their wedding she is big in Europe . His humor is veddy Brit (they are crass but use big words) as for Arthur blame, the director (unless he’s directing himself)!
