Brad Pitt that is very character revealing. Our guy was sweating in the hot sun at the Rose Bowl Flea Market attempting to sell two high end Knoll lounge chairs. In the afternoon Brad walked up and gasped when he saw the chairs. “I really wanted a pair of chairs like these but I lost them at an auction – they went for $20,000! He said. How much are you asking for them? The guy replied “Fifteen hundred dollars.” Brad looked surprised “That’s ALL?” and added “Will you take twelve?” The seller was hot and it was late in the day, so he decided to accept the twelve hundred. Brad smiled and handed him a check and the guy almost fainted – the check was for twelve THOUSAND dollars! (We’ve always told you Brad was a good guy.)

  1. Janet, I’m sorry, I love your blog but this story sounds like it was completely fabricated. When you us ‘ours’ and ‘us’ who are you referring to? Do you have a large staff like Harvey Levin?

  2. When you are paid $10 MILLION for worthless baby pictures, you can afford to drop pennies on flea market chairs. Brad probably winked and said, make sure you call Janet when you get home.

  3. Your friend ever hear of flea bay? Then they wouldn’t have to sit in the hot sun, waiting for a sucker to come along.

  4. Finally a story detailing a celebrity’s decency.

  5. sorry, “SHITTING” requires sitting, folks!!

  6. When you hear about celebrities taking as many freebees as they can, it’s nice to hear that they can be generous, too. I hope the story is true!!

  7. Do you think he just got confused? I’ve always heard he’s not the sharpest quill on the porcupine. Perhaps he thought the guy meant 12 thousand.

  8. ^^^^^^^ That’s what I think happened he heard 12 and didn’t listen to the rest cause he was too busy looking at the chairs, I think Clark I mean Brad can afford to spread his wealth around.

  9. Whenever I think of Brad and his lover, this is the first thing that comes to mind: These two have traveled more, done more, made more movies, etc. etc. that anyone else could do in 10 lifetimes. One day they are in the south of France, next week, they are in New Orleans, next week at Niagara Falls, next week Germany to promote a film. Exhausting, but with zillions of $$$$, probably loads of fun. So enjoy materialistic things now, kids, because J-Day is coming, and ‘good deeds’ won’t get you into the pearly gates of heaven.

  10. Brad is really a good guy. That may be one of the reasons he isn’t loved in Hollywood. He won’t play the cut throat games.
You just have to wonder what kind of woman Anistan must be to have chased this guy off.
I love Jolie, but she definitely got the best in that deal.

  11. If the seller replied “fifteen hundred dollars” — that sounds pretty clear. Maybe Brad felt like rewarding someone who was not trying to fleece him because he’s Brad Pitt. If you treat people fairly, it comes back to you.

  12. Sounds like bs. Who carries around a checkbook these days?????????

  13. “A friend of ours” He must be a “made” member.

  14. It’s horrible that a loser like that has $$$$. I’ll never watch another movie he or that Jolie brood make.

  15. Yeah, right. Is it a coincidence that all these “brad is nice” and the latest “brad is a good daddy” bull from people mag comes out when Brad Pitt has a movie to promote? what a joke. You must think all of the gossip readers are as naive and as gullible as Pitt fans. BTW, nice eye lift Pitt has there.

  16. I think he was just being a great guy. he is a well known over tipper.

  17. Damn, he looks so perfect in this picture, I thought it was his wax figure at Tussaud’s for a second.
I hope the story is true. He does seem like a genuinely nice guy. Granted, I’ve also heard he’s not the sharpest quill on the porcupine as someone above stated, but I also have heard about his kindness many times as well !
